Book a routine assessment
Make an appointment when symptoms repeat, affect quality of life, coincide with reduced desire or urinary change, or appear alongside diabetes, high blood pressure or vascular risk.
Choose in-person care when examination matters
Penile pain, a new bend or lump, loss of sensation, pelvic injury, testicular symptoms or uncertain anatomy cannot be fully assessed through a questionnaire.
Use emergency services for red flags
Call 911 for chest pain, severe breathing difficulty, fainting or stroke symptoms. An erection lasting more than four hours needs emergency assessment to reduce the risk of permanent injury.
Prepare for a useful appointment
Bring a medication list, recent blood-pressure reading and a short symptom timeline. Mention morning erections, desire, ejaculation, pain and any recent surgery or illness.
